The Easter bread, in many places, also known as Easter cakes, is a treat that should not be missing at the end of Lent on any table.
For the Christmas season, the taste of the original Dresdner Christstollen ® is still fresh in our minds, so that the scent of the Easter bread is not unknown. The dough of the Easter bread is made on the basis of the original Dresdner Christmas-dough, only a little lighter, without butter – but with margarine. Meanwhile for three generations, the Easter bread is hand made in the family and is beyond the region a popular delicacy.
The Easter bread is cut crosswise before baking. This should be in the context of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, according to tradition.
