Peter Lauer – Saar Riesling sparkling wine brut
German sparkling wine | dry, bottle fermentation
With his Réserve sparkling wine line, Florian Lauer has earned a reputation as one of Germany’s most accomplished sparkling wine makers. However, these unusual sparkling wines are not necessarily intended for everyday consumption. For this reason, he also offers a youthful Riesling Brut sparkling wine that will delight lovers of classically crisp and fresh Saar Riesling sparkling wines. It is based on early-harvested Riesling grapes from the Ayler Kupp vineyard.
Characteristic
Enticing bouquet with delicate aromas of fresh citrus fruits, crisp apples, pears, white peaches, some gooseberries and delicately fragrant herbal notes, all underpinned by smoky slate notes and subtle yeasty/nutty undertones. On the palate, the sparkling wine is dry with 6 g/l residual sugar, a fine perlage, racy acidity typical of the vintage and fine fruit and herbal notes, combined with pronounced minerality and a long, refreshing finish.
