Saxon Easter bread

Easter bread, also known as Easter pancakes or Lenten breakers in some regions, is a traditional pastry that is a popular gift after Lent.

The dough of the Easter bread is made on the basis of the original Dresdner Christstollen® dough, only a little lighter, baked without butter – but with margarine. Meanwhile, for three generations, our Easter bread is made by hand in the family business and is popular and known beyond the region. The Easter bread is cut crosswise before baking. According to tradition, this is associated with the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
