The Hoflößnitz – center of the Saxon wine culture landscape

More than half a millennium of wine culture – it is not without pride that one looks back on more than 600 years of history here at the foot of the Lößnitz slopes.

Once a winery and rural retreat of the Wettins, the idyllic, listed site is now a gem of Saxony’s wine cultural landscape and the first producer dedicated entirely to organic farming, producing certified organic Saxon wines and sparkling wines.

Since 1998, the Hoflößnitz Foundation has been cultivating the winegrowing tradition lived here: Saxony’s only winegrowing museum presents visitors with exhibitions on the history and present of regional winegrowing in the historic buildings and on the adjacent open space.
